The Shirt Outside Sharman’s

shirt on sharman's wall 2

It n ever ceases to amaze me how easily people lose their stuff. Gloves I can understand, you take one off up a mountain to pour yourself a coffee, scratch your head, point at a distant view and then you get up from your spot and it falls from your lap never to be seen again.

But a really, groovy shirt? If memory serves, this was quite a funky O’Neill shirt so not some cheap garment that you’d want to discard willy-nilly.

Really liked the pattern and the pre-knackered look.

Sharman’s is in the heart of Glenridding, on the main road, and a source of cash point, great food and a comprehensive mini first aid section from sun tan lotion to antihistamines to corn plasters. Alternatively try Alan round the corner at the local store. Fresh butties, pies, pasties and cakes there are to die for!

Both also have a fabulous selection of Lakeland ice-cream – just the ticket after a hard day’s tacking and gybing on Ullswater…..talking of which, get yourself to Glenridding Sailing Centre and checkout the sailing courses, kayak and canoe hire. Dudes. Ask for Steve or Pete.

Glove in Malham Main Car Park

We did this circular walk, gosh, it must be 3 years ago already and what goodies it brought forth. Never seen so many discarded items over the course of one walk, it was like tango cans in the Lakes of a summer’s constitutional!

Started in the main Malham car park, over the fields to a very fairy-style glen (great place for kiddiwinks to use their imagination) towards Gordale Scar, out to Malham Tarn and then back down Malham Cove.malham car park glove 2

Best to get it from all angles, eh?

PS Sorry for odd angle – not worked out how you rotate!
